Welcome
Headteacher’s Message
We are delighted that you have chosen to find out more about our school. We hope that you enjoy exploring our website and that it helps you to find out about life at Chater.
Chater Infants is a two-form entry community school for children from 3 to 7 years of age. It is situated in the heart of West Watford and the current building dates from 1989, although there has been a Chater school on the site for over 100 years.
We are very proud of our diverse communities and celebrate the richness the various cultures bring to our school.
At Chater we value everyone as an individual and aim to create a culture of successful learners who are confident and responsible citizens. We recognise the clear need to invest in a very high standard of infant education for all children. We strive to provide excellent teaching and learning in a way which will nurture the overall development of your child during the time that he or she is with us.
At Chater we encourage all children to have the highest aspirations. We believe that all children can achieve well and develop their abilities; we have high expectations of all our children.
To help the children achieve their full potential we develop a love for learning through building a high level of respect, self-esteem, working hard, having fun and most importantly being happy.
We also have high expectations of our parents and governors and appreciate the time and support that they provide to the school. We are proud of our achievements as a school. We are keen to involve our children and parents in all aspects of school life as we strongly believe a close home-school partnership helps the child achieve their best. We are always pleased to show prospective children and parents around our school.
Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.
Best wishes
Mrs A Bal-Richards
